Drinks Carry Memory
If you're Nigerian abroad, certain drinks hit different. They don't just quench thirst — they unlock memory. A sip of Malta and suddenly you're twelve years old at your cousin's wedding. A glass of zobo and you're back in your grandma's kitchen. Here are seven drinks we think every Nigerian in Vancouver should have in their fridge at least once.
The List
1. Zobo — hibiscus, ginger, citrus. Tart, red, refreshing.
2. Chapman — Nigeria's official mocktail. Fanta, Ribena, Sprite, cucumber.
3. Malta Guinness — dark, malty, non-alcoholic. The elders' drink.
4. Kunu — millet-based, lightly spiced. Northern Nigerian classic.
5. Palm Wine — fermented, tangy, slightly sweet. Best fresh.
6. Tiger Nut Drink — creamy, sweet, made from tiger nuts and dates.
7. Agbo — herbal bitters. Not for everyone, but essential.
"A Nigerian fridge without Malta is a fridge that has given up."
What We Stock
Aboki Grill carries zobo, chapman, and Malta year-round. Palm wine we get in fresh on weekends when our supplier delivers. Ask on WhatsApp if you want something specific for an event — we'll do our best to source it.

Drink Local, Eat Nigerian
Pair any of these with the right food and you're no longer in Vancouver — you're on your grandmother's veranda. That's the whole point.
